About FishingFix

Our Mission

FishingFix was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to help anglers everywhere fish smarter and catch more, through approachable guidance and free tools that make planning a trip, choosing gear, and reading the water clearer, more rewarding, and more enjoyable.

We believe that everyone who loves to fish, from first-cast beginners to seasoned anglers, deserves access to accurate tools, comprehensive resources, and trustworthy guidance. Our platform bridges the gap between confusing jargon and confident, well-informed decisions about techniques, gear, species, bait, knots, and the conditions you fish in.

Through our free collection of tools, we help people make informed decisions about fish weight, tides, weather windows, line and tackle, catch tracking, bait choice, knots, and license basics. Every tool is designed with real-world applicability in mind, tested against the day-to-day realities of life on the water, and continuously improved based on user feedback. To go deeper, explore our Game Fish Species museum, with galleries on freshwater game fish and saltwater game fish. For regulations, licenses, and tide information, always verify the current rules with the official state or local authority before you fish, and follow safe boating and water practices.

Our Story

FishingFix emerged from a need we experienced firsthand. While trying to sort through conflicting advice and scattered references, we noticed a common challenge: the lack of accessible, accurate tools for the everyday decisions that come with planning a trip and heading out on the water.

Great days on the water rely heavily on curiosity and a little know-how, which are invaluable. However, good fishing also benefits from clear answers about how much a fish weighs, when the tide will turn, whether the weather favors a bite, which line and bait to use, and which knot to tie. We saw an opportunity to combine well-researched fishing knowledge with modern tools to help people make confident decisions and get more out of every trip.

Our team began developing tools that we wished existed when we started our own fishing journeys. Each calculator and guide was created to solve real problems encountered at the dock, on the boat, and along the bank. We tested every tool against real trips, refined the logic based on feedback, and ensured that the results reflected current, widely accepted angling guidance.

Today, FishingFix serves active users worldwide, from first-time anglers to lifelong fishing enthusiasts. Our tools have helped people estimate catch weight, plan around the tide and weather, spool the right line, log their trips, pick the best bait, and build confident habits on the water.
